HELLO!

* born in California and currently residing in the Pacific Northwest *
Growing up in California my exploration of trees started as a toddler. I roamed the Pine and Fir forests of Lake Arrowhead and later, Mt San Jacinto. - Every summer my Mom and I would road trip to the Central Coast for a summer vacation; out of the car window I would see beautiful stately trees with wide trunks and heavy branches and tiny variously shaded green leaves, those were the Oaks of the Central Coast-
In my 20’s I moved to Sonoma County to attend Sonoma State University where I studied to become a Park Ranger.
Sonoma County is blessed with stunning Oak Woodlands and Redwoods. It was there that my tree knowledge and adoration expanded and I was granted the chance to now begin studying Oaks and understand the Redwood ecosystem.

Formal training:

  • Girl Scout’s - camping in Idyllwild, CA and backpacking in San Jacinto National Forest, CA

  • Black and White Film Development [6th grade in Irvine, CA]

  • Beginning Black and White Photography [Napa College, CA]

  • Sonoma State University Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Planning

  • Family hikes and local ecosystem knowledge and reverence [Sky Forest, CA - Lake Arrowhead, CA, Yosemite NP, CA]

  • Miles of hikes and walks in the forest and oak woodlands

  • Wildland FireFighter [CDF/CalFire 1986-1993]

Currently, I am focused on bringing about 25 years of Tree photos to this site.
